All deer in the Endless Forest have a human face by default, but masks will cover or modify this.

To obtain the spell that allows you to give someone a mask, find a tree that has mushrooms growing on the side. Select the "eat" option and you will get a new action with a golden mask icon. Selecting this action when near other deer will cast a spell on them to give them a mask. You can't cast the spell on yourself.
